We were long overdue a trip to Cornwall so when the opportunity arose to go down and visit my sister on her birthday, Emily and I didn’t hesitate to say yes!
Leaving London on a Friday night is just fab… we managed to get off work at 3 and on the road by 4. It was still a 6 and a half hour trip home…. Everytime we drive down I always question whether or not it’s worth it. The alarm went off at 7am the next day and we woke to blissful silence and a blue bird day.
We wished Gaby a happy birthday, had a lovely breakfast did some sport, the typical Cecil way and then headed to lunch in St Mawes at the Tresanton Hotel.
We drove over to St Mawes and were greeted with picturesque garden path leading down to the hotel.
Then treated on the terrace to this view
We started our meal with a round of prosseco.
Lunch
We were treated to one of the best lunches I’ve ever had.
A true taste of the fresh Cornish sea.

A fantastic plaice and chips
We ended up spending 3 hours on the terrace just basking in the late September sun. I even had someone comment on how brown I was just yesterday.
If you’re looking for a lovely lunch in Cornwall I highly recommend this place.

Walking In Trelissick
Before getting back in the car and heading up the M5 on the Sunday we went for a 5 mile walk around Trelissick gardens. Another blue bird day
beautiful place and food 🙂
That food looks divine, so jealous of the sunshine too! Would love to spend some time in Cornwall, might have to look into it next year 🙂
